Red Bull’s Cliff Diving is coming to Dublin for the first time this weekend and they have built a ‘cliff’ at the heart of Dun Laoghaire Harbour.
It brings together some of the best high divers in the world and will take place between 5 pm and 8 pm on both Saturday and Sunday evenings.
The Saturday event will have to compete with the Heineken Cup Final featuring Leinster followed by Dublin taking on Kilkenny in the Leinster Hurling Championship but on any given weekend the competition for space in people’s calendars is always going to be intense.
It is still expected that thousands will turn out to witness the spectacle and the viewing areas themselves along the pier will provide as good a view as any that the competition can produce around the world.
Admission is free, if the sun shines as expected it promises to be a wonderful opportunity for bringing adventure sport away from the fringes and right into the middle of where the public gather.
Red Bull media will be keeping the action running live across social media throughout the weekend and will live stream the finals from 7 pm on Sunday at www.redbull.ie/cliffdiving
If you can’t make it, it promises to be a pretty special broadcast. If you can, better still and we will see you there.
