We may never get to host a Formula 1 race on the island of Ireland but an estimated crowd of 30,000 turned out in Belfast last night to see the closest we will get.
David Coulthard who won 13 races during his career jumped back behind the wheel for the Red Bull Showdown, a performance of speed and spins in Belfast City Centre under the name of the Red Bull Showdown.
It was part of a weekend of motorsport celebration in the city and showed the deep connection there is for the sport of ultimate speed here in Ireland.
