RTÉ’s coverage of the Republic of Ireland’s defeat to Denmark in Tuesday night’s World Cup qualifier decider drew huge audiences on TV, online and mobile.
An average audience of over 1.03 million watched the entire game from whistle to whistle on RTÉ2 with an average audience of 446,000 watching the pre-game analysis and 482,000 watching the post analysis with Darragh Maloney, Eamon Dunphy, Liam Brady and Didi Hamann.
In all, over 1.7 million people tuned in for a minute or more across the three and a half hours of coverage on RTÉ2.
In addition RTÉ Player served over 135,500 live streams for the game, making it the biggest live event of 2017 on RTÉ Player to date.
Of the 135,500 live streams on RTÉ Player, 57% were from mobile devices with 43% from PCs or laptops.
