RTÉ Sunday Game returns with GAA President

The Sunday Game returns this weekend though it will be a while yet before we have any 2020 action to slice and dice with Des Cahill and his team of analysts.

The first of the series, now into its 41st year will have some live content with GAA President John Horan in the studio to talk about the latest on a potential date for a return to play.

Stephen Rochford, Ciaran Whelan, Cyril Farrell and Anthony Daly will also be there looking back in the same regular format but on the recent Championship Finals of Dublin against Mayo in 2017 and Clare against Galway in 2018’s Hurling Semi-Final.

RTÉ Sport Classics continued last night with Ireland’s Grand Slam in the Women’s game from 2013 in what must have been one of the most gruelling and freezing games of the modern era.
This Sunday also sees The Story of The FIFA World Cup 2014 (4.30pm, RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player) telling the story of Brazil 2014 as Germany were crowned World Champions for the fourth time.

Next Thursday’s Classic includes a Euro qualifying double-header featuring a famous Don Givens hat-trick from 1974 plus a win over the reigning world champions Germany from 2015.

Game On continues Monday to Friday on RTÉ 2FM from 6-7pm with Marie Crowe, Donncha O’Callaghan and Ruby Walsh featuring a mix of the latest news and feature interviews.

Sunday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1 will have analysis and chat on the week’s developments.

RTÉ Player is home to an extensive range of sporting programmes and documentaries including All Ireland Day, The Story of Rugby, Anthony Foley: Munsterman, The Dubs – Story of a Season, When Ali Met Cathal, Micko, Blues Sisters and more.
