FAI Season Ticket holders have been given a boost with the news that two friendlies, sponsored by Three and taking place at the Aviva Stadium in September and November will be included in this year’s package of games.
Northern Ireland will travel south on November 15th, days before the Republic of Ireland’s crunch UEFA Nations League away game in Denmark and their own at home to Austria.
This will be the 11th meeting between the two teams and the first since 2011. The two sides met in qualifying rounds for both Italia ’90 and USA ’94.
The other game has yet to be confirmed but will take place in June ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup Finals in Russia. The opposition is likely to be one of the team competing in the finals and will be confirmed later this year.
The season tickets also give access to the two key Republic of Ireland Women’s Internationals against Slovakia and the Netherlands taking place in Tallaght Stadium in April.
There will be a crossover with season ticket packages being sold for 2018/19 which will include the two home games in the Nations League against Denmark on October 13th and Wales three days later, as well as the opening rounds of qualification for Euro 2020, the draw for which takes place in Dublin in December.
The Republic of Ireland will be back in action for three away friendlies before the summer as well with games lined up against Turkey on March 23rd and France on May 28th.
