Paddy Somers, having been one of the key drivers behind AIB’s successful sponsorship programme over the last 14 years, is to kick off the next chapter in his career as Associate Director at Teneo.
Somers signed off in style with AIB’s work being heralded as the Sponsorship of the Decade by Onside Sponsorship at the end of last year.
He will begin with Teneo straight away and it will be a pleasure to watch as he brings the experience gained from working on a wide range of activations to bear in new relationships.
He was a key player around #TheToughest campaigns and AIB’s transition from sponsorship of the All Ireland Club Championships through to the Senior Inter-County Football Championship.
The campaigns have won many awards down the years and Somers presented at the prestigious Leaders Awards in London alongside AIB Head of Group Brands Mark Doyle in 2018.
The campaign won awards in London and New York as well as close to home.
AIB retain a strong sponsorship team with Mark Brennan, Mark Doyle, Michael Greene and Claire Liston among those who will continue to push the sponsorship portfolio that was renewed with the GAA for another five years back in 2018.
Somers’ move to Teneo strengthens their position as one of the leading agencies working in sponsorship and the wider marketing scene here in Ireland.
Among the award-winning campaigns they have been associated with in the recent past are those of Vodafone with Irish Rugby and Aer Lingus.
Teneo are regular partners of Sport for Business and jointly support our ever-popular Sporting Year Ahead event each January.
