Sport for Business and 2 Into 3 are hosting a series of Sports Club Masterclasses aimed at helping clubs and organisations from across the sporting spectrum prepare themselves for the 2018 Round of Sports Club Capital Grants.
The details of the next round are due to be announced shortly and there will be a short window of application for clubs to have a chance of accessing the €40 Million likely to be made available.
The Masterclasses will now take place during the first and second weeks of September allowing time to help prepare clubs for a likely closing date the following month.
Previous rounds have seen an investment of over €100 Million into local and regional sporting infrastructure but many clubs have fallen short through not having the expertise to apply correctly or not understanding what they could apply for.
The Sports Club Masterclasses will take place in four locations with two in Dublin, one in Athlone and one in Cork. They will include detailed insight on the application process and a workshop element where clubs will gain expert advice based on their specific circumstances.
2 Into 3 have successfully managed a number of applications for previous rounds and have a strong data which they will share on what has gone into making a winning application.
“With such an amount available, and with the potential to have such a transformative impact on clubs and their communities, this is an opportunity to make sure of getting the application process right, including how to link in with other groups to improve the chance of success,” said Sport for Business CEO Rob Hartnett.
“Clubs and those who run them are under pressure on so many fronts to get things right, and rely on volunteer input for virtually all their work.”
“This is an opportunity to learn from experts on how to give themselves a best possible chance of securing funding that will turn plans into reality and will make the club a better stronger force for good.”
“There will be a very tight turnaround in terms of the application for this latest round, hence the urgency of getting things set up in good time.”
Because of the workshop element to each of the four Masterclass events, places are limited and must be booked in advance.
