Sport Endorse to Tackle UK Market

Sport Endorse has this morning announced the appointment of Ian King as Country Director for the UK.

With the majority of global sport mothballed due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, it is an interesting step by Sport Endorse to start tackling the UK market but it is often in times of the greatest change that come the greatest opportunities.

Sport Endorse was established in 2018 with the premise of enabling sporting stars to take greater personal control, through technology, of opportunities to maximise their revenue and potential future partnerships.

It was created by Trevor Twamley and Declan Bourke who brought a range of tech, media and sporting experience to the table.

To date, the main emphasis for the service has been in Ireland and the United States with athletes such as James Lowe, Sanita Puspure and Dean Rock as well as a number of NFL and NBA Stars on the service.

The approach to the UK will be headed up by King who joins Sport Endorse from Halewood Wines & Spirits, where he was Head of Sport & Leisure.

A 28+ year veteran in representing brands, brand building and establishing successful relationships between brands and sport, King has also worked as Sales Director for Sadler’s Brewing Company, Cathay Investments and the Kwik Save Group.

“While COVID-19 has hit the ‘pause’ button on sport, we believe it is just that, a pause, and we are working hard to ensure we are in the best possible position to deliver for our clients when the ‘play’ button is pressed again,” said Sport Endorse co-founder Trevor Twamley.

“Development of the next version of our platform is in full swing with our team here and an offshore team in Ukraine all working remotely on it.”

“I’ve been dealing with Ian for the past couple of years and have always found him to be a dynamic and energetic go-getter, so his DNA is a great match to how we work for our clients in Sport Endorse,” said co-founder Trevor Twamley.

“I was delighted when the opportunity came up to discuss Ian joining the team and am excited on how Ian will help us drive the business forward in the UK as we continue to grow and expand our global footprint.”

“Ian will be a key member of our leadership team and we look forward to the resumption of sport when deemed appropriate.”

“I’m delighted to be joining a team which knows what it is about and where it is going,” added King.

“I am confident that working together we can make a positive contribution to the Sports Sponsorship and Marketing space in the UK and to add to the already impressive family of Sport Endorse clients.”
