The 2019 Sport for Business Sport for Social Good Conference will take place at the Coleraine Camus of Ulster University on Thursday July 18th.
This year’s renewal will coincide as part of the celebrations around the staging of the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush and the R&A will be among the keynote speakers at the Conference talking about a major new social impact initiative they are introducing this year.
Last year’s conference featured the CEO of the Manchester United Foundation talking about the work they do and this year we will focus again on major initiatives making a real difference in communities across the island of Ireland.
We will hear from some of Ireland’s leading business and sporting organisations about the partnerships they are creating and the ongoing growth in the importance of meaningful social engagement.
We will look in detail at initiatives that have already made an impact and at the lessons we can learn on how to approach this area in the future.
“The way in which companies are seen as businesses and as employers is a real driver of their motivation for getting involved in important projects,” said Sport for Business Founder Rob Hartnett.
“We will speak with some of the biggest companies on the island of ireland about how they go about making a real difference through the easily understood prism of sport.”
“It is a privilege to work with our long term partners in this area Allianz, Karise Hutchinson and her team at Ulster University and with the R&A on bringing to life one of our most important events of the year.”
We will publish our Annual report on the subject of Sport for Social Good at the conference and look forward to welcoming another full house of Sport for Business members and Friends to Ulster University and then, as an option, on to the opening afternoon and early evening of the opening day of the Open Championship in company with Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Brooks Koepka and the world’s leading golfers.
Over the coming days and weeks we will unveil the keynote speakers and knowledge burst contributors that will make Sport for Social Good one of the most important events you will attend this year.
