The Sport for Business Sports Club Hub was in Tullamore Rugby Club last night for a presentation alongside officials from Leinster Rugby on how clubs in the midlands region can build themselves up as centres of the physical, virtual and commercial communities.
The way in which Terenure College Rugby Club set about building an annual 10,000 hour volunteer commitment was presented, followed by a session with Elma Beirne from Leinster Rugby on social media and communication.
The event was rounded off by a presentation from Rob Hartnett of Sport for Business looking at how clubs can define the story of who they are and the role they play in a compelling way to commercial partners at local as well as regional level.
Our partners in the Sports Club Hub were also represented with My Club Finances talking to clubs about the ways in which they can leverage membership in the digital age and Arvo.ie on how clubs need to make sure they are effectively buying their goods and services through smart procurement that will save more in a year than the whole range on individual fundraisers that are rolled out.
This event followed on from a successful pilot event in Cork in December where we drew over 30 clubs from more than 12 individual sports to see how they could manage themselves in the most efficient way.
We are planning similar events in Limerick, Galway, Dublin and Belfast in 20156 and if you would like to be part of what we are doing please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
