Startups in the sports tech industry are being targetted in an innovative new competition aimed at showcasing this country’s talent in the sector.

‘The Front Runner’ is the latest element of the One-Zero 2019 programme to be unveiled as preparations continue for this year’s major event at the Aviva Stadium on September 17th.

The contest will showcase the work of startups in the areas of Broadcast & Media, Sponsorship, Fan Engagement and Esports – each of which are main pillars of content on the programme of One-Zero 2019.

“We’re thrilled to launch ‘The Front Runner’ in the build-up to September,” said One-Zero CEO Patrick Haslett.

“The SportsTech scene here in Ireland has been going from strength to strength in recent years, and we view this as an opportunity to uncover the next wave of talent. It’s also a great show of confidence from Enterprise Ireland by sponsoring the cash prize, and we’re delighted to have their support.”.

“The Front Runner competition is about building Dublin and Ireland’s capacity and activating our ability to compete in a dynamic global sports market,” added Stephen O’Gara of Dublin City Council.
