Dublin based Sports Travel International has expanded from a base of running tours and events to adding a range of international cycling tours for 2020.
Billed as the first time such a wide choice of cycling tours has been offered in Ireland by an Irish tour operator, yesterday’s launch in Dublin included details of tours to top-class events like the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta a España.
With cycling participation on a substantial upswing and appealing to a relatively well off demographic, the opportunity of tours with the bike could rival the idea of yours to follow rugby and soccer teams but with a little more energy.
The tour packages include a variety of experiences, including crossing the finish line of a Stage of the Tour de France, having VIP access to the Start Villages of Stages and sampling the hospitality at the Stage finish.
In addition to the Grand Tours, Sports Travel International, who is now a member of Sport for Business is offering trips to Classics such as Paris Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders, plus the major Sportives, including L’Etape du Tour, the Maratona des Dolomites and the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100.
Training camps in Costa Blanca and at Club La Santa in Lanzarote are also on offer.
Tour packages include the services of bike mechanics, extra feed stops, organisation of all logistics and hotels, plus additional support from an experienced team of representatives.
Sports Travel International has operated in Ireland since 1988 and is Ireland’s premier running travel company. In 2018, the company became part of the Sports Tours International family, one of Europe’s largest multi-sport travel companies, which has led to more events and more sports being available to runners, cyclists and triathletes in Ireland.
“We’re very excited to bring these international cycling events to our customers in Ireland for the first time,” said Martin Joyce, founder and Tour Director of Sports Travel International.
“A huge benefit of travelling with us is peace of mind, as we can arrange accommodation, race entry and transfers so our clients can focus on soaking up the atmosphere and putting in a fantastic performance.”
Tours offered by Sports Tours International will feature in a new range of Sport for Business Experiences which we will be revealing in the Autumn.
