A new bilingual podcast from ‘Spórt TG4’ discussing the biggest games and stories of the year will begin this Wednesday evening at 7 pm. The 10-episode series will focus on the 1980’s, with 1980 being the feature year in episode one.
Well-known players who participated in these games will be interviewed and a special guest will highlight some of the most popular stories from that time.
The players will recount the epic games in which they participated and tell stories of the heroes who played alongside and against them, while revealing a few gems from these games that may be unknown to many.
The special guest will focus on the national events that happened that year. Who were the political parties in power and what scandals arose around that time? What made headlines? Who won the Eurovision!? What were the events that lifted the nation?
There will also be short highlights from the games themselves, but this is a video podcast with lively conversation at its core.
The podcast will be presented by Micheál Ó Domhnaill from GAA BEO and episode one will feature the Ger Power, Captain of the Kerry footballers, Joe Connolly who led the Galway team and commentator Sean Bán Breathnach.
