Timing is critical in sport and in business and Intersport Elvery’s could not have possibly picked a better time to open up their new store this week in Thurles Shopping Centre.
Tipperary’s progress through the Munster Hurling Championship round robin has been explosive so far with 7-79 racked up so far in three wins over Cork, Waterford and Clare.
Seamus Callanan was one of the panel who was on hand to meet fans and open up the new store yesterday, alongside Ronan Maher and Noel McGrath.
The store is designated as an Official Retail Store of Tipperary GAA but stocks gear from all counties as well as training and running kit.
It is a mere long puc of a ball away from Semple Stadium and will doubtless do a stronger trade than imagined if Tipp overcome Limerick on Sunday and get themselves into the Munster Final and one step closer to regaining an All Ireland.
Intersport Elvery’s were the principal shirt-front sponsor of Tipperary GAA as well as Mayo GAA in recent seasons. They retained the relationship with Tipp despite Teneo coming in to take the shirt front.
The brand is also a backer of Connacht rugby and shirt front main sponsor of the Irish Rugby 7’s teams.
It runs the official retail store at the Aviva Stadium and 50 other stores around the country.
