Wednesday night’s Ireland v Australia Women’s Rugby World Cup clash drew a peak audience of 322,300 viewers to RTÉ2 and a share of 17.45% of the available audience.
The game was also broadcast live in full on eir Sport
It was also one of the top five programmes streamed on the RTÉ Player.
In France the viewing figures for their opening game against Japan peaked at 829,000, presenting the image of a well organised and well-presented tournament to the world.
It was a special occasion to be at and with tickets already sold out for the Dublin games the only chance to experience the tournament first hand will be at the semi finals and Final in Belfast where a limited number of tickets are still available.
