TV3 will unveil the look, feel and personnel behind their coverage of the Nat West Six Nations later this morning at the Aviva Stadium.
The broadcaster won the right to broadcast every match in the tournament on free to air television after the latest round of broadcast media rights, taking them away from RTÉ Sport for the first time.
Ronan O’Gara was highlighted initially as a major signing and we understand this will be confirmed despite his signing a contract to coach with Crusaders in New Zealand. Whether his relationship with TV3 will last beyond 2018 should become clearer.
It is also understood that a new main presenter will be announced for the coverage.
Matt Cooper and Tommy Martin have been to the fore in previous rugby coverage from the World Cup on the station though both of them have a heavy workload at present with the Tonight show and stepped up coverage of the UEFA Champions League.
Sinead Kissane has been a regular contributor and a strong presence and it would be no surprise to see her take on a more prominent role.
All will be revealed later and you can keep up to date with the announcements around the coverage and the potential sponsorship of it by Ulster Bank as has previously been the case, on our twitter feed live from the Aviva @SportForBusines
