UEFA Confirmed for Women in Sport Event

We are delighted to confirm this morning that Polly Bancroft from UEFA will be joining us at our annual gathering to highlight and explore the role of Women in Irish Sport which takes place in a little over two weeks, on Wednesday, December 5th at the studios of RTÉ.

We will learn about the origins, the motivations behind and the execution of UEFA’s Together #WePlayStrong campaign which has had over 200 million campaign views, generated over 70,000 fans on social media and had over 25,000 mentions on Twitter and Instagram alone in its first year.

73% of teenage girls who have seen the campaign say they would like to play football, and 17,000 have used the Find a Place to Play Football tool on weplaystrong.org.

There are valuable lessons to be learned from the campaign in terms of how we promote sport across the board but especially towards the core audience of teenage girls.

It was the drifting away of this group from sport that prompted the campaigh in the first place and UEFA’s insight, together with those of the rest of our top class speakers on the morning, and the publication of our Liberty Insurance backed 50 Women of Influence in Irish Sport promises a great morning of learning and engagement with those who are making a difference.

If you want to join us you can secure your place below.
