Vhi is calling on families to experience junior parkrun this Sunday as it launches a series of special junior parkrun roadshows to celebrate its partnership with parkrun Ireland.
junior parkruns are 2km timed runs catering for 4 to 14year olds at all fitness levels. They are free of charge and provide a fun and safe environment for children to enjoy exercise. There are currently 17 junior parkruns in Ireland with ambitions to increase to 20 by the end of 2018.
The first Vhi Roadshow will take place at Marlay junior parkrun this September 16th at 9.30am before visiting junior parkruns in St Anne’s, Raheny and Tralee on September 23rd and October 14th.
There will be a lively warm-up routine at these events and crossing the finish line will be a special experience as children will be showered with bubbles and streamers to celebrate their achievement.
Refreshments will also be provided at the finish area and there will be a gift for each child too.
“There is a great atmosphere at Marlay junior parkrun and we’re all really looking forward to the special Vhi Roadshow on Sunday, September 16th,” said Declan Moran, Director of Marketing & Business Development at Vhi.
“If you have never attended a junior parkrun before I’d encourage you to bring the family and give it a go. It’s non-competitive and children can sprint, walk, jog or skip their way around the course. It’s really about being active and making new friends.”
“parkrun and indeed junior parkrun has been growing at an incredible rate and Vhi is delighted to be supporting this growth and development. The success of parkrun and junior parkrun lies in the simplicity and accessibility of these local community-based events.”
In addition to the launch of Vhi’s junior parkrun roadshow, Vhi has also announced a brand new adult parkrun Rewards Programme. Vhi customers can earn free rewards when they take part in adult parkruns across Ireland.
Customers can claim their first reward after completing just one parkrun and as they accumulate parkruns they will unlock a variety of different rewards. Rewards include sports towels, LED running lights, phone holders and more.
To sign up, participants simply download the Vhi app and scan their parkrun barcode. The Vhi Rewards Programme starts on September 29th and will run for an initial six months.
