Video of the Week – Courtown BMX

Earlier this week we wrote about the additional €2.9 Million which the Government was making available for projects through the Dormant Account Funds. In the coming weeks, we will highlight a number of these as an example of what can be achieved in social terms from smart programmes, enabled by a relatively small amount of funding.

Cycling Ireland secured some of this funding last year and contributed to a programme encouraging children to get involved in sport through a cycling centre in Courtown which had been built by the local authority but then fallen into disuse.

It’s a positive story of engagement and a real-world example of how sport can be used for social good.
