“The day that I rolled up my sleeves was the day that my life really began.”
Ellen Keane is a normal 21 year old other than the fact she is a Paralympic Games Silver medallist, an inspiring and intelligent advocate of sport for everyone regardless of whether you are a boy or a girl or how many arms you have.
This is her story, told at the Tedx talk organised last month by students at Griffith College in Dublin.
Please take the time to watch. It’s why those of us involved in sport do it. It turns normal 21 year old girls into heroes. Whether that’s in their own eyes only or on a world stage with media watching is not important. Having the belief in yourself and the courage to try, that’s what’s important.
