William Fry Backing One-Zero Podcast

The team behind sports business conference One-Zero 2019, taking place at the Aviva Stadium next month, has unveiled a new ‘Calling the Shots’ podcast, in association with leading law firm and Sport for Business member William Fry.

Hosted by journalist Andy McGeady, the series explores the lives and motivations of the biggest names in the industry while highlighting how they’re driving innovation in their sectors.

The first episode of the series is available now and features Mike Downey, Director of Sports Technology at Microsoft.

In his interview, he shares revealing insights into the tech giant’s motivations behind working with the likes of golf’s PGA Tour, the NFL and Nascar.

The second episode focuses on blockchain and the impact that this technology is likely to have on sport with Eamonn Donlyn, Director at SportVEST and a former Emmy Award winning producer.

Podcast sponsor, William Fry is also partnering the keynote series on the conference mainstage on September 17th, which will also feature Mike Downey, along with Chief Marketing Officer at the Jacksonville Jaguars Julian Duncan and Heidi Browning, Chief Marketing Officer at the NHL in the US.

“We’re thrilled to have William Fry’s support around both the keynote series for One-Zero 2019 and our new podcast series, ‘Calling the Shots’,” said One Zero CEO Patrick Haslett.

“We share a vision of delivering world-class insights for our audience of sports business professionals – giving them premium content, where they want it and when they want it. This new series does just that.”

“We are delighted to be partnering the keynote series at the upcoming One-Zero conference,” added William Fry Partner, Leo Moore.

“Our Sports Group represents clients operating directly and indirectly within the rapidly evolving sports and business of sports industries. We are excited by the learnings to be gained from the podcast series and the keynote addresses at next month’s conference.”
