Next Wednesday’s 5th Annual Women in Sport Conference is now completely sold out. We will welcome 100 of those who are making the biggest difference when it comes to Women in Sport in Ireland for what promises to be a lively morning of debate and looking to the future.
UEFA’s Polly Bancroft will guide us through the motivation and the successes of the #WePlayStrong campaign that has lifted engagement with teenage girls across Europe.
We will hear from John Coffey of Liberty Insurance and Aoife Clarke from Lidl on the thinking behind both companies doubling down on their investment this year in Camogie and Ladies Football.
There will be an opportunity to look at what has been achieved and what is to come from the 20X20 campaign with its chief architects Sarah Colgan and Mary O’Connor as well as insight from RTÉ Producer Elaine Buckley on what the barriers are towards greater media coverage.
There will be a discussion around the player experience and the advance of women into coaching positions with Aoife Lane of the WGPA and players Maria Kinsella and Anne Dalton as well as knowledge bursts looking at research and data from Clubforce and RTÉ as well as on the Female Sports Forum and the work it has been doing in Northern Ireland.
Most of all there will be engagement within the studio as we share thinking and ambitions across a wide range of interested parties.
Among those who will be with us for the morning will be UEFA, World Rugby, Liberty Insurance, Lidl, Three, Electric Ireland, SSE Airtricity, PwC, Bank of Ireland, RTÉ, TG4, Independent News and Media, Newstalk, the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, the Camogie Association, the FAI, The Irish Football Association, Swim Ireland, The GAA, Basketball Ireland, Badminton Ireland, the Irish Ladies Golf Union, Gymnastics Ireland, Cricket Ireland, Horse Sport Ireland, Special Olympics, Paralympics Ireland, the Federation of Irish Sport, Run Ireland, Trinity College Dublin, Technological University Dublin, Along Came a Spider, Teneo, ThreeFiftySix, the Rotunda Hospital, LineUpSME, Navy Blue, Titan Experience, Clubforce, the Galway Races, TriTalking Sport and the Northern Ireland Sports Foundation.
We can’t wait to get things underway. If you haven’t been able to secure a place you can follow the conversation on social media with #SfBWomeninSport from 9 AM on Wednesday and we will have reports and actions arising from the day with which we would be delighted to involve you.
All attendees will also receive a complimentary copy of our 50 Women of Influence in Irish Sport, published in partnership with Liberty Insurance.
