World Lacrosse Saved for Limerick

The World U19 Lacrosse Championships due to be held this summer in the University of Limerick have been saved for Ireland and will now be staged at the same venue in June of 2021.

They will be for the same cohort of players as a unique U20 World Championships and the work is now underway to manage once again all the logistics around bringing teams from around the world into Ireland.

We also cover the news that NBC is to use a fledgeling Premier Lacrosse League tournament, with players sequestered in quarantine facilities, to fill some of the screen time that had been planned for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The sport here in Ireland is currently small and focused on the Universities but it has the potential as a result of both these items of news, it could really be one to watch in 2021.
