KPMG, the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, Sky Ireland, Titan Experience and Bord Gáis Energy were the five biggest winners from the Sport for Business family at last night’s Irish Sponsorship Awards in Dun Laoghaire.
KPMG won the Award for Best Sponsorship of Women’s Sport for the work with the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, and with ambassadors Leona Maguire, Rasheda Adeleke and Rachael Blackmore.
It has been a pleasure to play a small part in what they have created alongside ForeFront Sports with the Open, and this award was richly deserved.
The Aer Lingus College Football Classic was groaning under the weight of two more awards this year, for Best Sporting Event Sponsor and Best Rights Holder. It is an event that keeps on getting better, and again was a deserving winner.
Sky Ireland took the coveted award for Best Sports Team or Athlete Sponsorship, ahead of stiff competition from Supermacs and Galway GAA, KPMG and PwC with the IRFU.
Titan Experience were deserving winners of the Best Sponsorship Team award, just edging out PwC.
Bord Gáis Energy’s “It’s All Heating Up” campaign, featuring Lee Chin and the Two Jonnies, won the Best Use of Social Award.
One final moment of glow for us was Elizabeth Hurley being named as the Rising Star in Sponsorship, 18 months after we named her among the 2024 cohort of the Sport for Business PwC 30 Under 30.
