Sport Industry Innovation Series – Investment

The Federation of Irish Sport has announced the full line up of speakers that will participate in the Investment night that will kick off the upcoming Irish Sport Industry Innovation Series.

The panel, which will form part of a wider discussion on investment in sport and physical activity, will focus on how sport can be used as a vehicle for corporate investment and social return.

The panel will be chaired by Sport for Business Founder Rob Hartnett and will draw on why brands and investors take an interest in the sector when it comes to their community engagement strategy.

Joining the panel will be Aoife Clarke, Head of Communications at LIDL, Denise Charlton, CEO of the Community Foundation of Ireland and Richie Gernon, Regional Director at EBS.

Clarke’s experience of leading LIDL’s #SeriousSupport of Ladies Gaelic Football combined with Gernon’s stewardship of the EBS/Federation of Irish Sport partnership to champion volunteers will bring a wealth of insight into brand investment in sport and physical activity.

Charlton’s role as CEO of the Community Foundation of Ireland will add a charitable and philanthropic angle to the evening’s discussion, an area that is of increasing interest for organisations within the sports sector that want to be an avenue for responsible, socially conscious and impactful investment.

The panel joins a packed line up for the opening night of the series which will also see a keynote address from Government Chief Whip and Minister of State with responsibility for Sport and the Gaeltacht, Jack Chambers.

With one further speaker addition to be announced, the evening will be a special one and we are delighted to be involved.

After a challenging year, the session will focus on future investment and the long term growth for the sector.

The series takes place from 20th – 22nd April 2021, with the Investment night set for the 20th, and tickets are available at
