About Us

Together Sport for Business Limited t/a Sport for Business (“we” or “us”) owns and operates the websites, www.sportforbusiness.ie and www.sportforbusiness.com (“Website”) and is an Irish private limited company with its registered office at 18 College Green, Dublin 2.  The company is registered in Ireland with Company registration number 500678.

We describe in this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) the information we collect from you through the Website, the purposes for which we use your information and other relevant items about our processing of your information.

While the Website is directed towards individuals over 18, you may use the Website if you are under 18, but if you provide any personal data to the Website, then you must ensure that you consent and you get the consent of your parent or to you providing information to the Website.

Information we collect about you

As the members of Sport for Business are businesses and sports organisations who are seeking mutually beneficial opportunities, the majority of the information we collect through the Website is not personal data, but instead concerns the relevant subscriber business or sports organisation (“Subscriber”).

However, in using the website, or in registering as a Member or a guest, you on behalf of a Subscriber may need to provide certain information, including, your name, email address and contact details.

You will also receive a username and password on behalf of the Subscriber so that the Subscriber can access the various benefits of Sports for Business membership.  You should keep this secure and we have no responsibility for unauthorised use of your username and/or password.

We may also collect your name and email address if you decide to subscribe to our Sports for Business News Digest (“Digests”).  You do not need to be a Subscriber to sign up to the Digests.

We do not collect any credit card details from you.  If you wish to pay for your Subscriber’s subscription to Sport for Business by credit card, then this transaction is handled by Stripe, our payment processing partner.  We do not provide your personal information to Stripe and the only information provided by Stripe to us is whether or not the payment has been successfully processed.

If you are a Subscriber, you may change your Subscriber details on the Website at any time by accessing your Subscriber profile.

We may collect a certain amount of statistical information concerning usage of the Website, for example, logs of the number of visitors to the Website, pages visited by those visitors and so on.  We may also keep records of your computer’s internet protocol address when you access the Website to enhance your experience on return visits to the Website.

Collection and Use of Information

We will only use your personal data to provide the various services provided through the Website, in particular to provide the various subscription services (“Services”) to your Subscriber organisation or to provide Digests to you.
We may also use your personal data in order to respond to your requests and keep you updated and informed about the Services and the Website.

Security

We store your personal information using appropriate technical and operational security measures to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration or destruction of your personal information.

Voluntary Disclosure

Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose in public areas – for example, discussion groups – may become publicly available and may be accessed by other users. You should therefore carefully consider disclosing your personal information via these public areas. We accept no responsibility for any use made of information that you submit to public webpages.

How We Use Cookies

Our Website uses cookies – information that is sent by the Website to your computer when you log onto our Website. We use the information collected to improve your browsing experience and the Website generally to better suit your needs. You may adjust your browser settings not to accept cookies, but this may result in a decreased functionality for aspects of the Website.

Please note that by visiting the Website or subscribing to the Digest or the Services, you are agreeing to the terms of this Policy, whether in your own right or on behalf of your Subscriber organisation. This Policy may change from time to time, but we will notify any such changes to you by email and/or by posting a change notice on the Website.
You will be deemed to have accepted the current version when you subsequently use the Website.

Removal/alteration of personal data

You may request details of the personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1988. A small fee of no more than €6.35 may be payable per request. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please write to Sport for Business, 18 College Green, Dublin 2 or email – memberservices@sportforbusiness.com.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete you can also contact us or change this information by accessing your Subscriber details. We reserve the right to request you to provide additional information in order to enable us to identify your personal data and/or to verify your identity.

The Website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave the Website, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to third party website. 

General

This privacy policy is governed by Irish law and all issues relating to this privacy policy regarding this website are governed exclusively by Irish law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
