INVESTEC TAKES OVER ‘HEINEKEN’ CUP

Investec has been unveiled as the new title partner of the Investec Champions Cup, the world’s biggest club rugby competition, for the next five years.

It brings to an end the title partnership of Heineken which dates back almost unbroken to the creation of the tournament just short of 30 years ago in 1995.

The competition will retain its format and structure drawing the top eight clubs from each of English Premiership Rugby, the French Top 14, and the United Rugby Championship – including clubs from across Europe and South Africa.

Together, Investec and EPCR have set a focus on progressing towards a carbon-neutral tournament, advancing the women’s game, and developing innovative financial solutions and wellness programmes tailored to players.

MAN UNITED REVEALS SNAPDRAGON AS NEW SHIRT SPONSOR

Manchester United have agreed a deal with U.S. technology company Qualcomm that will see its Snapdragon brand replace the TeamViewer logo as their shirt sponsor from next season.

TeamViewers deal had been reduced from an original meant to run until 2026, but signed at the height of COVID, and this new deal looks as though it will be for three years at or around a figure of £20 million per year.

“Manchester United has agreed to an expanded strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., that will see the Snapdragon brand displayed on the front of the club’s famous shirt,” United said in a press release late on Tuesday.

Snapdragon had been a partner of the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.

“Under the expanded agreement, Snapdragon will become Manchester United’s front-of-shirt partner from the start of the 2024-25 season, featuring on the home, away, and third kits of the men’s and women’s teams,”
added the statement.
