Ciaran Gallagher is the CEO of Gymnastics Ireland and a member of the Executive Committee of the Olympic Federation of Ireland.

Recognised as one of the stars of the sports administration family he has overseen the dramatic growth of Gymnastics at every level from local clubs to the Olympic Games during his time in charge.

The sport is also 75 per cent self-funded and has a vibrant ecosystem of clubs operating across the country.

Support for the High-Performance programme has produced Ireland’s first truly international star in the sport with Rhys McClenaghan tipped to put up a huge performance in Tokyo next year.

With the world in lockdown though he now faces the biggest challenge of his career in maintaining the momentum that has made the sport so attractive in the past six years.

We sat down in a virtual sense with Gallagher to get his views on how that can happen and what the key priorities are to make it so.
