Day 2 of these championships has the potential to be another hugely exciting day for the Irish in Rome.

Relay hero Christopher O’Donnell will return to the track early tomorrow morning as he looks to progress through the opening round of the men’s 400m from 10.45am.

Fans will have to wait until the evening session to see the second Irish involvement of the day with Oisin Lane set to go in the 20km Race Walk from 5pm. Conditions are set to be still in the high twenties, but the young Mullingar Harriers athletes is sure to gain plenty of valuable experience on his senior European Championship debut.

Sarah Lavin will go in search of her second major championship final of the year when she takes to the semi-final of the 100m hurdles from 7.12pm. Lavin automatically advanced to the semi-final as one of the top 12 ranked athletes and is sure to have eyes set on the evening’s medal decider (9.08pm).
Israel Olatunde will return for the semi-final of the 100m at 8.10pm, with the experience of Munich 2022 sure to stand to the Irish record holder.

Brian Fay will in final action when he takes to a stacked 5000m at 21.28pm.
