Dexter Blackstock
Dexter Blackstock of Nottingham Forest has been handed a suspended three month ban and fined £60,000 for a breach of the FA’s rules on betting.
The news breaks today two weeks before the FA formally decides on the introduction of a blanket ban on football betting by anyone involved in a playing, coaching or admin capacity at clubs in the top eight tiers of English football.
It also comes one day before Rob Hartnett of Sport for Business speaks at a major Conference at Stamford Bridge on the risk to reputation of the relationship between football and betting.
Ironically, Blackstock is pictured playing for Forest in a kit sponsored by Victor Chandler, a major betting company located in Gibraltar.
