Kearneys NDCSport is to the fore once again in the new ad campaign launched over the weekend by the National Dairy Council.

Leinster and Ireland Rugby internationals Rob and Dave Kearney feature in the new ‘It all starts here’ ads promoting the early start of good nutrition habits among children and urging parents to ‘be active about what appears on the family shopping list.’

The Kearney’s hail from a family involved in Dairy farming and the ad follows them on a return trip home to County Louth and a visit to their local national school where they have a kick around with the kids there now.

The National Dairy Council has a long record of association with sport with Paul O’Connell and boxer Darren O’Neill featuring in campaigns over the last three years.

“The Kearney brothers are terrific role models who resonate with adults and children alike,” said NDC Chief Executive Zoë Kavanagh. “They bring together an established and a rising star of Irish sports – and are collectively an embodiment of balanced diet and active lifestyle.”

“There is a growing interest in sports nutrition, in professional and amateur sport and the concept that how you fuel your body can affect your performance in training and in matches – whether you are playing a local school match – or as a professional sports person – it embodies the principals we apply in our every day life on and off the field,” added Dave Kearney.

The promotion of milk through sport was also added to in the past few days with news of a 10 year deal between Glanbia and the GAA and Gaelic Players Association.
