GAA Club Draw 2014The GAA has launched its second national club draw aimed at assisting clubs in their fundraising activities.

Last year’s draw raised a total of €2.4 million for clubs across the country.  The proceeds of the sale of tickets remains with each of the selling clubs while the prizes are sourced centrally by the Association, often in partnership with commercial allies.

“The success of last year’s draw was a tremendous boost to our clubs and offered tangible assistance to those who embraced the concept,” said GAA President Liam O’Neill.

“We would expect that the greater awareness that comes in year two, as well as knowledge of the tens of thousands that sometimes small local clubs were able to raise for little or no cost will lead to an increase in the revenue it brings in this year.”

Last year’s draw was taken up by a little under half the clubs but that is expected to rise considerably this year.

Tickets cost €10 and will be distributed to clubs via County Boards in the coming days and weeks.  The sales period will roll over Christmas and the New Year with all sold ticket stubs returned to the respective County Boards by January 24, 2015.
