The Allianz Leagues got underway at the weekend with big crowds turning out across the country and surprise wins for Mayo, Cork and Monaghan in the top flight.
One of the matches to draw less attention than others was the draw between Carlow and Antrim in Division 4.
It was interesting though for seeing the team run out for the first time in shirts adorned by the logo of the new county sponsor Tickets.ie.
The sponsorship deal is worth a strong five figure sum and includes unique bonuses which will be payable not directly through performance on the pitch but by the additional tickets that would generate though increased fan interest.
Tickets.ie will have a unique call to action for fans across the jersey so that fans who but their tickets for Allianz League and Championship matches will be helping to secure greater support again for the work of the county board in building up teams and structures,” said Tickets.ie Managing Director John O’Neill.
“As the largest sports ticketing provider in Ireland we are delighted to support Carlow GAA. Tickets.ie firmly believes in supporting local teams, local events and local communities on a national level. We are very excited to embark on this journey with Carlow GAA and wish them the very best of success for 2015.”
Tickets.ie is the national ticketing partner of the GAA and has built out an online ticketing system that is available to all as well as through retail partners Supervalu and Centra where fans can also buy tickets.
There are five Supervalu and five Centra stores across the county.
The company generates annual ticket sales of €40 million and was recognised by Deloitte in 2014 as the country’s fourth fastest growing technology company.
It is currently undertaking new research into sales and customer relationship management with the GAA as a whole and this step into local sponsorship with a deal that benefits from inter county through to juvenile groups is a welcome addition.
