We will be live again today on social media channels from the second day of the second annual European Sport Tourism Summit at Thomond Park in Limerick.
Today is focused on industry experts with the opening session based on planning and innovation. Fiona Monaghan of the Wild Atlantic Way and Dave Conway, CEO of the National Sports Campus Development Authority will be followed by case study presentations on how authorities in Belgium and England have gathered together stakeholders to deliver events and experiences that will generate value.
Jeremy Brinkworth is the Project Director for the Rugby World Cup this year and his words will be listened to carefully with a view to the 2023 bid from Ireland.
Rob Hartnett from Sport for Business will chair the next panel on bidding hosting and measurement getting gems from Jon Coxeter Smith of Sportcal, Frederik Munk of Sport Event Denmark and Simon Lillistone of Fortitude Sport.
The final two sessions will focus on Sports Tourism Marketing and Sponsorship with Brian Harte of Tourism Ireland, Deirdre Macklin of TV3 and Michael Cole, the former Head of Marketing for London 2012 at BT.
The event is being sponsored by Shannon Airport which has been a key player in bringing international sporting events to the Mid West region and the line up of speakers over the two days is impressive.
Sport for Business will be carrying live updates from certain of the key sessions throughout the two days and we hope you will join us here later and via twitter live @Sportforbusines and even on Periscope.
