2518031821Sport for Business is pleased to be involved once again with the SportConneX Leadership Programme being operated by the Ulster University Business School.

The programme is aimed at managers, leaders, talented and elite athletes, entrepreneurs, governing bodies, forums, networks, and clubs working in the sports sector in NI.

The practically orientated leadership development programme is specifically geared towards equipping participants with the appropriate knowledge and skills to enable them to develop their existing leadership potential and to carve out a sustainable business or career in the growing global sports industry.

In October 2015 the Ulster University Business School signed a two year partnership with the Odyssey Trust in Belfast enabling Belfast Giants players to have access to courses and learning in the School.

“The programme has allowed me to step outside the Hockey Bubble and come back into the world of learning to look at my eventual future outside of the hockey world,”  said Belfast Giants Ice Hockey Captain Adam Keefe.

“We don’t really think about the skills we need outside the sports world however through this programme, especially the first module  on personal and professional development, the personality testing has allowed me to find out my strengths and weaknesses and to put together a 5 year career plan that outlines the path I would like to take.”

Applications must be made before the end of this month and the programme will kick off with an induction today at the University of Ulster on April 13th.

Over the course of twelve months it delivers facilitated workshops, inspirational speakers, and work based assignments.

Participants will be provided with opportunities to acquire and develop a range of personal and interpersonal competencies to help them innovate and compete successfully in the rapidly growing global sports industry.

Applicants can find out more by contacting Janette Shearman at Ulster University Business School.
