RSA Insurance, already on board as the main sponsor of Cricket Ireland have today committed further support to the game and announced their sponsorship of Cricket The Leinster Cricket Union for a three year period.
The agreement will involve RSA support for representative Leinster teams in the new regional structure, senior and junior League and Cup competitions and underage summer camp activities within camps and schools.
The Leinster Cricket Union runs introduction modules for schools around the region and has brought the game to more than 100 over recent years.
“We are very pleased to confirm our partnership with Leinster Cricket for the next three years,” said Philip Smith, CEO of RSA Insurance.  “Our major involvement in Ireland’s national teams continues to deliver real benefit to all parties involved and we’re delighted to now also provide tangible support for the domestic game.”
The new national kit, manufactured by O’Neill’s was also unveiled yesterday at a special public event in Elvery’s Sports store in Dundrum.  Head Coach Phil Simmons as well as members of the senior men’s and women’s national teams were on hand in the store to meet the public and show some of the skills that has lifted the sport so much over recent times.  The launch was also covered live on the Mooney Show on RTE Radio One.
