Former London Irish Rugby CEO Bob Casey has joined Korn Ferry as a Senior Client Partner based at its new Dublin practice.

He will work to expand the recruitment and talent advisory firm’s EMEA Sports Practice as well as sitting across the CEO, Board, Retail and Consumer practices.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry and relocating back to Dublin, Casey was first a player, then captain, then CEO for two years at London Irish who returned to the Aviva Premiership this season.

During his career, he also represented Leinster, played for Ireland seven times and captained the Ireland A side as well as playing for the Barbarians.

After retiring from the professional game he spent time in business development with Powerday before returning to London Irish as CEO.

“The sports sector is going through a period of dramatic change and transformation where the need for leadership and talent is becoming even greater,” said Casey.

“I am delighted to be joining Korn Ferry at such an exciting time. Korn Ferry is one of the world’s leading organisational and people advisory firms, and the world’s largest provider of executive search with a premier Sports Practice which has global reach, world-class assessment tools and broader consulting services.”

“We’re immensely pleased that Bob has joined the team at Korn Ferry,” added Richard Sumner who heads the company EMEA Sports Practice.

“As former CEO of London Irish, Bob has a unique blend of leadership that is grounded in knowledge of the game and a wealth of business acumen, managing one of Britain’s most successful clubs.”

“His experience and unique set of skills will be of huge value to existing clients, and will help us to continue to differentiate and grow the Korn Ferry Sports Practice in EMEA.”
