Award-winning writer and activist for Women in Sport Anna Kessel will be in Dublin tomorrow for a very special event organised by Liberty Insurance ahead of International Women’s Day on Thursday.

‘Women in Sport, The Next Chapter’ will also see World Rugby Referee of the Year Joy Neville in conversation with Joanne Cantwell; the release of new research into attitudes towards Women’s Sport commisioned by Liberty Insurance; and what promises to be a lively and informative panel discussion featuring Kessell, Mags D’Arcy, Fiona Coghlan and Rob Hartnett from Sport for Business.

We will be looking at where we have got to over the past twelve months and where the focus needs to be now in order to continue the progress made in the area of promoting and enabling greater levels of engagement for Women in sport.

Kessel is one of the most respected sports writers in the UK and a successful author of Eat, Sweat, Play.  She founded Women in Football which has grown to become a powerful forum for women working in and around the sport to come together and effect real change in how they are seen within what was previously a very male-dominated world.

‘Women in Sport, The Next Chapter is an invitation-only event but we have a very limited number of places available for Sport for Business members.  If you would like the chance to join us tomorrow and participate in what is likely to be a very positive event simply drop us an email and we will see what we can do.

Sport for Business will also be involved in a live debate featuring Sarah Keane, Joan O’Flynn, Noelle Healy and Ryle Nugent at the studios of RTÉ on International Women’s Day on Thursday. Find out more about that event here.
