Davy’s sponsorship of the Regatta kick starts their partnership as they will also sponsor the Junior Regatta that will be held in 2019.
It also adds to a growing portfolio of sponsorships that includes back-to-back All-Ireland Senior Hurling team champions, Cuala GAA and Irish professional golfer, Paul Dunne.
Davy is among Ireland’s leading providers of wealth management, asset management, capital markets and financial advisory services, employing over 680 people across offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Belfast and London.
“With its long and rich history the National Yacht Club is a vibrant hub of family sailing with its members competing at the highest levels of international sailing competition,” said Philip Smith, Associate Director, Davy Private Clients.
“At Davy we share a passion and history in supporting talent and families in Ireland. We’re delighted to be sponsoring The Davy National Yacht Club Regatta and we would like to wish everyone taking part on June 23rd, the very best of luck.”
“The Regatta will have 150 entries and will be the biggest event in the Club for some time,” added Commodore of the National Yacht Club, Ronan Beirne.
“To coincide with Annalise Murphy’s wonderful achievement in finishing the Volvo Round the World Race in the Hague this weekend, on the yacht “Turn the Tide on Plastic”, we will be reducing the amount of plastic used in the Regatta.”
“We will also do a major harbour clean up the day after the event, on Sunday. This will be the start of a long-term effort to reduce the use of plastic – especially single use disposable items – in our club and our sport. We are delighted to be working with Davy to make the event an outstanding success.”
