It may be little consolation after Sunday but at least it recognises the achievement of breaking an 85-year drought.
Tipperary football manager David Power has been selected to receive the EirGrid Manager Moment of the Month for November.
After a successful inaugural year, the monthly award is back for the 2020 All-Ireland Hurling and Football Championship and looks to celebrate those managerial moments that light up each month and change the course of the game.
Over the course of this year’s All-Ireland Championship, one managerial moment that deserves special recognition will be chosen from across both codes. The manager will be named as EirGrid Manager of the Month and will be awarded a premium sports watch.
Power’s leadership was instrumental in Tipperary’s historic defeat of Cork in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
In just over a year in charge, he managed to end the Premier County’s 85 year wait for a Munster Football title.
A massive last-minute call was the inclusion of Colin O’Riordan in the starting 15, who had been playing with Sydney Swans in the AFL since moving to Australia 5 years ago.
Despite not having featured for his county since 2015, O’Riordan put on a sensational display in the final. Power’s decisions throughout the match proved to be pivotal and Tipperary marched on to a 3 point win over the Rebels.
EirGrid has been the Official Timing Partner to the GAA for 5 years and is also sponsor of the EirGrid U20 Football Championship.
