If you thought you saw Ian Wright walking around Dublin this week then you were probably right, right, right as the Arsenal legend was in town promoting the launch of Cadbury’s new initiative to help support Irish women’s grassroots football, ‘The Game is On’.
The secondary sponsor of the Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team teamed up with ten clubs nationwide to help them promote their club on a local level with the creation of uniquely designed posters.
Wright is pictured above with former Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team captain Emma Byrne at Temple Bar Gallery and Studios with a selection of the posters.
They were also part of a special Cadbury FC and Off the Ball night of football chat at a jam-packed Vicar Street alongside Karen Carney, Joe Molloy and Michael Owen on Wednesday night.
That covered everything from looking ahead to the English Women’s Super League to the growth of the women’s game with all proceeds from the ticket sales also going towards the support of grassroots football.
