Thousands of children will again experience the Olympian environment at the Sport Ireland Campus this summer.
The partnership of Allianz Insurance and Team Ireland with the Sport Ireland Campus Kids’ Camps has been confirmed for 2023, offering children the chance to learn new sports in a fun and inspirational world-class environment.
Allianz are an official partner of Team Ireland as well as a global partner of the International Olympic Committee and are focused on bringing the Olympic Games to life for Irish sports fans of all ages.
The lucky attendees will get co-branded kit as part of their camp experience while trying out a wide variety of sports in the same high-performance environment that many Irish Olympians use to train ahead of major competitions.
The world-class facilities will be matched by a fun atmosphere and elite coaching teams with children experiencing everything from the Sport Ireland National Gymnastics Training Centre to the Indoor Athletics Track and the AquaZone waterpark.
“Allianz are integrally involved with sport in Ireland and the Sport Ireland Campus Kids’ Camps are a wonderful example of how high-performance sport can inspire children and the next generation,” said Valerie Hedin, Marketing Communications Manager of Allianz Ireland.
“The camps give children of all abilities and ages the opportunity to participate in many different sports. We are delighted to partner with Sport Ireland Campus and the Olympic Federation of Ireland to give children the chance to experience the home of Irish Sport and to be inspired by Team Ireland athletes.”
“Athletes are busy preparing for Paris 2024 and many of them are training daily in the Sport Ireland Campus,” added Gavin Noble, Team Ireland Chef de Mission.
“It’s great to see children witnessing their endeavors and to give children a positive starting point in their own sporting journey.”
On hand to launch the Kids’ Camps today were Shane Ryan, Irish 50m Swimming Olympian and Sophie Becker, Irish 400m Olympian who said, “It’s brilliant to see Allianz and Team Ireland are continuing to support the next generation of Irish athletes as they start out on their sporting journey in Sport Ireland Campus.”
“The Sport Ireland Campus is open to everyone in Ireland and our high-performance programmes for Olympians sit side by side with our programmes which are open to the local community,” said Michael Murray, Chief Operating Officer of the Sport Ireland Campus.
“I’d like to sincerely thank Allianz and Team Ireland for continuing their sponsorship of our Kids’ Camps and I’ve no doubt that some of the children who attend may go on to represent Ireland in the years ahead.”
