Amateur boxing’s blue riband event, the National Elite Championships, will be live-streamed on TG4 this coming weekend.

TG4, working in collaboration with Nemeton Productions, will stream the Semi-Finals on Friday, January 16th, and the Finals on Saturday, January 17th, via TG4’s YouTube channel, with coverage beginning at 6.30 pm and 6 pm respectively.

The partnership builds on TG4’s strong track record in broadcasting amateur boxing, having previously streamed the Elite Championships in 2021, 2023 and 2024, and simulcast the 2019 finals.

The agreement reflects both the growing profile of Irish boxing and TG4’s long-standing commitment to showcasing elite Irish sport across traditional and digital platforms.

The partnership ensures the National Elite Championships continue to reach a broad and engaged audience, while also supporting the visibility of athletes, clubs and the wider boxing community.

This year’s finals promise a compelling showcase of Ireland’s finest talent, with a series of standout match-ups already confirmed. Among the highlights is a much-anticipated lightweight final between double Olympic champion Kellie Harrington and reigning Elite champion Kellie McLoughlin. In the women’s 75kg final, World champion Aoife O’Rourke will face Wexford’s Shauna Kearney, while the most decorated boxer in Elite Championship history, Michaela Walsh, will bid for a record-breaking 14th title.

Other headline contests include men’s 50kg, where Ulster Elite champion Louis Rooney meets multiple-time Elite winner Sean Mari, and a 55kg clash featuring World bronze medallist Patsy Joyce against Clepson dos Santos. World medallists Gráinne Walsh and Lisa O’Rourke are also among those contesting finals on a packed Saturday evening card.

First staged in 1922 and permanently housed at Dublin’s National Stadium since 1939, the National Elite Championships remain the cornerstone of Ireland’s amateur boxing calendar.

The TG4 partnership ensures that tradition is matched by modern reach, reinforcing the event’s status while opening it up to a new generation of fans.
