Allianz, title sponsor of the Olympic Federation of Ireland and Paralympics Ireland, has announced an extension of its brand ambassador partnership with Irish sprint star Rhasidat Adeleke.
Adeleke, one of the country’s most prominent rising athletes, has enjoyed a rapid ascent from Tallaght Athletic Club to global recognition. She became the first Irish woman to break the 50-second mark in the 400m and has established herself as a medal contender heading toward the LA28 Olympic Games.
As part of the renewed agreement, Adeleke will continue to support Allianz’s major grassroots and youth engagement initiatives, including the Dare to Believe Olympic schools programme and the Stop the Drop campaign, which tackles declining sports participation among young people. Allianz estimates that more than 60,000 children engage with sport annually through its programmes, with the insurer highlighting the need to address the statistic that one in five Irish children drop out of sport between primary and secondary school.
“Allianz is committed to reversing the trend,” said Mark Brennan, Allianz Head of Marketing. “Rhasidat is the embodiment of resilience, passion and commitment to excellence. Her success and humility continue to inspire aspiring athletes across Ireland, and we are privileged to support her as she continues to build towards the LA28 Olympic Games.”
Adeleke said she was “delighted” to continue the partnership. “Their support for me and Team Ireland has been exceptional,” she said.
“They are passionate about encouraging young people to achieve their dreams, and, for me, that is one of the most important ways you can support athlete development. With an eye on LA 2028, I’m excited to see what lies ahead for Irish athletes, and I’m grateful for Allianz’s continued support as we strive to reach new heights.”
The Dare to Believe programme, launched in 2019, brings Olympic values such as respect, participation and excellence into classrooms nationwide, offering children practical tools and inspiration to pursue their goals.
Allianz has partnered with the Olympic Federation of Ireland since 2021 and earlier this year became the title sponsor of both the OFI and Paralympics Ireland. The company said the renewed partnership with Adeleke marks another step in its commitment to strengthening Ireland’s high-performance pathway while fostering participation and aspiration among young people.
