Lance Armstrong is to appear on Newstalk’s Off the Ball programme as part of the build up to his appearance at the inaugural One Zero Conference at the RDS on October 21st.

“This is an interview we have been pursuing for years,” said Off The Ball’s Cian Murtagh speaking in advance of the show last night.

Armstrong has attracted significant public interest, and no little hostility, since being unveiled as a keynote for the event being brought to life by a group including the founders of Sport for Business and Pundit Arena.

Regardless of the visceral tension that will surround his appearance the extended programme around One Zero promises to be the greatest day of insight onto world sport and the advance of technology across a range of fields that has ever been staged here.

Some of those who will be appearing in Dublin on Friday October 21st include:

  • Mounir Zok of the US Olympic Committee on how Technology and Innovation delivered 121 medals for the USA at the Rio Olympic Games
  • Rugby World Cup Winning Manager and Team GB Advisor at the London Olympics Sir Clive Woodward
  • Shane Lowry on his rise to the top of golf and missing the Ryder Cup
  • John Kavanagh on what it is like to manage the mercurial talent of Conor McGregor
  • Jaimie Fuller on ethics in sport in 2016
  • Nic Couchman on why sport attracts such huge investment interest
  • Daniel Kings of Aspetar on how nutrition is the Fuel to Rule at the worlds most advanced sports science academy in Qatar
  • Jeremie McPeake in his first speaking engagement since becoming the ‘Social Media Quarterback’ for the 2017 SuperBowl in Houston.

Others to be involved in a day that has been described by one of those bringing clients to it as ‘absolutely the sports business event of the year’ include Former Head of Communications at the GAA Lisa Clancy, Paul Neilson of Stats, Emma Buckley of Gourmet Fuel and Darragh Bass, Head of Innovation at BT Sport.
