Circle K Ireland has announced Balbriggan FC as the fourth monthly winner of its FAI Clubs competition, part of its title sponsorship of the FAI Club Mark Programme.
Balbriggan FC secured top spot in the latest standings, with Hartstown Huntstown FC finishing second and Tallaght Town AFC third. Each club receives €1,500 worth of kit as part of their prize.
The competition, which runs until March, features a total prize fund of €60,000 — split evenly between €30,000 worth of kit and €30,000 in cash — as well as a VIP training experience with players from the Republic of Ireland senior international teams.
In addition to the club prizes, Circle K is offering weekly rewards to individual supporters. A €500 cash prize is presented each week to the Circle K Extra member who accumulates the most points, in recognition of their backing for grassroots football.
The initiative forms part of Circle K’s wider investment in grassroots football through its partnership with the FAI Club Mark Programme, which recognises clubs demonstrating excellence in governance, management and development initiatives. Since the partnership began, Circle K has invested more than €130,000 in clubs across Ireland.
With the Grand Finale approaching in March, all participating clubs will be in contention for further major prizes. These include a €10,000 grand prize for one club, four additional €5,000 awards, a VIP training experience with the Republic of Ireland men’s national team, and kit packages for five clubs.
Ciara Foxton, Managing Director of Circle K Ireland, said Balbriggan FC’s efforts had stood out during the latest round.
“We are delighted to recognise Balbriggan FC as our January winners of the Circle K FAI Clubs competition,” said Foxton, Managing Director of Circle K Ireland. “The response from the club has been exceptional and their efforts throughout the month have earned them a well-deserved place at the top of the standings.
“It’s hugely encouraging to see the energy and pride that local communities continue to show for their clubs. With the competition building momentum ahead of the Grand Finale in March, there’s still everything to play for. I’d encourage Circle K Extra members to continue getting behind their local team and help drive them forward in the weeks ahead.”
Separately, Circle K has launched a promotion for its Extra loyalty customers offering the chance to win match tickets, flights and accommodation for Ireland’s crucial World Cup play-off against Czechia in Prague on March 26th. Customers can enter by downloading the Circle K Extra app and scanning it with in-store purchases, with each scan counting as one entry. A raffle to select the winner will take place on March 12th.
