Biofreeze and Cork City Marathon have jointly announced a new partnership that will see Biofreeze become the Official Recovery Partner to the event on Sunday 2nd June.

Biofreeze is a brand owned by Reckitt and provides cold therapy pain relief for sore muscles, sore joints, backache, and arthritis. It comes in a variety of formats such as spray, gels and roll-on and is available at pharmacies and retail outlets throughout Ireland.

Biofreeze has become a major supporter of Irish running and athletics. In March, it announced a three-year partnership with Athletics Ireland that will see Biofreeze become the Official Recovery Partner to Athletics Ireland.

Olympian Sharlene Mawdsley has been appointed ambassador to Biofreeze with the brand supporting her in her ambition to represent Ireland at the 2024 Paris Games.

Athletes taking part in the Cork City Marathon will have access to the Biofreeze Recovery Zone before and after the race as well as a Biofreeze pit stop at mile 20 where cold therapy pain relief formats will be available to ensure runners are ready to go the extra mile.

“This is a hugely exciting year of athletics in Ireland,” said Head of Marketing at Reckitt Charl Malan.

“Biofreeze is delighted to come on board as the Official Recovery Partner for the Cork City Marathon. We’re looking forward to helping athletes of all ability to achieve their own personal goals and recover better whether they take on the Cork City Marathon or go for a short walk.”

“Everyone at Cork City Marathon is delighted to welcome Biofreeze on board as a partner for this year’s race,” added Race Director Eamon Hayes.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Biofreeze and look forward to seeing runners at the Biofreeze Zone on June 2nd.”
