Trailblazing jockey Rachael Blackmore has become an official ambassador to the Equestrian Centre Charity Festina Lente.
Festina Lente is a charity that aims to support people to achieve their personal best through their experiences with horses, horticulture, and community regardless of personal circumstances.
The name in English is Hasten Slowly and the Festina Lente staff are passionate about ensuring that every person that enters their facility has an enjoyable experience in gaining confidence and experience working with horses.
Blackmore knows people personally that have experienced some of the services provided by Festina Lente and she recently paid a visit to the centre in Bray Co Wicklow to speak with staff and students.
“I’ve seen first-hand some of the great work that Festina Lente is doing and the difference that can make to somebody’s life,” she said.
“I’m delighted to take on this ambassadorial role and look forward to supporting the charity’s future initiatives.”
“All the staff at the centre are incredibly kind and having spent most of my life in and around stables, I know the positive impact working with horses can have on people from all different backgrounds.”
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Rachael on board as an ambassador with Festina Lente,” added CEO Dr Jill Carey.
“For over 30 years we have delivered customised learning and training programmes that promote learning, recreational and employment opportunities – empowering people to achieve their full personal and vocational potential.”
“We believe in creating a safe space that nurtures and recognises the unique talents of each individual, empowering them to be the best they can be.”
“To now have the support of an ambassador with the profile of Rachael Blackmore is absolutely fantastic for the charity.”
“A powerful and influential network of information and collaboration”
