Tommy Bowe has been revealed as the Irish face of a €1.25 million marketing campaign for Subway restaurants.
The Ulster and Ireland winger joins swimmer Michael Phelps, basketball player Blake Griffin, gymnast Louis Smith and boxer Anthony Ogogo as a Subway ‘Famous Fan’.
Bowe will appear in the Subway ‘Where Winners Eat’ marketing campaign across the UK and Ireland starting with a new TV advertisement on 21st November. He will be starring alongside elite gymnast and Strictly Come Dancing favourite Louis Smith and boxer Anthony Ogogo as they go head to head, competing over which of their favourite Subway meals is best.  The campaign will be supported with social media, PR, and in-store activation.
“We are delighted to be working with an inspirational athlete like Tommy who is a true fan of the brand,” said Manaaz Akhtar, Head of Marketing for Subway in the UK and Ireland.  “As an athlete, he understands it’s what you put into your body that counts. We want to empower consumers, making them aware of the healthier, smarter eating choices on offer at Subway stores.”
“I am excited to be partnering with the Subway brand. I lead a healthy and active life and what I eat is important,” added Bowe. “The work we are doing is about encouraging people to lead an active and healthy lifestyle and the Subway brand can help.”
