
‘Zone Play’ allows customers to bet on what event will happen next in a game. There are ten options ranging from a free kick for one side or another through to a goal, the ball going wide or the ball going for a corner. Players nominate a chosen stake ranging from 50c up and simply click the zone corresponding to their choice.Winnings are paid instantly to their account. The company estimates that on average their are 60 such events in a game.
Boylesports hopes to have the service live for the Euro 2012 Championships. It is the first major bookmaker targetting the British and Irish market to go live with the service and it is expected to give a major boost to its ‘in play’ offering.
Betting live during the game is now believed to be worth more than 50% of the overall football betting market. In global terms betting on the European Championships could exceeed €1 billion.
“We are excited about the increase this will bring to our growing in play business,” said Keith O’Loughlin, Chief Executive of Boylesports Online.
